Hostworks Deploys Blue Coat Systems

Blue Coat Systems, a provider of Web security and WAN optimization solutions, announced that Hostworks, a solutions provider to the online and digital media industry, has deployed Blue Coat ProxySG appliances with Optimized Video Delivery technology as part of its Hostworks Content Delivery Solution.

"Blue Coat has improved the performance of our existing services and allowed us to create new services to help our customers accelerate content and improve availability all in the face of unprecedented consumer demand."

The Blue Coat solution enables Hostworks to scale the delivery of digital content for Australia's broadcasters and websites.

Using the Blue Coat appliances with Optimized Video Delivery, Hostworks can scale live and on-demand video delivery for its customers.

The Blue Coat Optimized Video Delivery solution includes the capability to stream-split live Adobe Flash video. In addition to Adobe Flash, the solution also supports Microsoft Windows Media MMS- and RTSP-based streaming media.
