HUNTER JUMPER COUNCIL WINNERS DETERMINED.(Sports)

The Capital District Hunter Jumper Council's annual championships took place recently at the Skidmore College stables, with 36 junior riders competing for the Ralph P. Symmes medal and 19 adults competing for the Con Culkin medal.

In order to qualify for the Symmes medal, riders had to win at least once or finish second at least twice in junior competition at Capital District shows held throughout the season.

After a jumping phase consisting of 10 fences, each 3 feet, 3 inches in height, the judge, Julie Ulrich of Middleburg, Va., invited 12 riders to return on their horses to demonstate their equitation at the walk, trot and canter.
