ALBANY -- Robert Charles Schleimer, 76, of Joseph Terrace, Guilderland and Roxbury Road, Claverack, died Friday, March 17, 2000 at St. Peter's Hospice after a valiant battle with liver cancer. He was born and educated in New York City. At 19, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as an independent duty medic in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Schleimer was a professional investigator. After 20 years of managing a private insurance fraud investigations office, he joined the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, retiring in 1995 as a senior investigator specializing in cigarette and motor fuel tax evasion cases.
